A Chapman's Peak Proposal

This month, we look back on Kelci and Leigh’s engagement story from 2020 - which was nothing short of magnificent - thanks to location, setting, view and a beautiful showcase of genuine romance.

Read Kelci’s full story below and take a look at the images that so perfectly sums up their experience on the day.

A few words from bride-to-be Kelci:

“Leigh and I had been dating for 3 years and on the 25th of October 2020 he proposed to me on Chapman's Peak at sunset. I had absolutely no idea! It was an incredible surprise. Our amazing photographer @nicola_katie captured the moment perfectly - and was a welcomed distraction so that Leigh could drop down on one knee while I wasn’t looking.

Leigh had been planning the engagement since July last year. He had the amazing Chelsea from Dear Rae to help him and, together, they designed my dream ring. He did this all during the day while I was at work so I wouldn't find out - very sneaky! He would go in his lunch breaks to look at the diamonds and consulted with Chelsea to come up with the final product. He said he wanted it to be perfect and didn't want to rush the process.

He decided on a 9ct solid yellow gold ring with a 0.37ct oval rose cut salt and pepper diamond set in 4 claws. A unique diamond with flaws, because no relationship is perfect - it sums us up so authentically. Our ups and downs have made our relationship what it is today. We laugh, cry and grow together in and out of our relationship, and the salt and pepper diamond encapsulates that message.

Overall, we are so happy and I have the most beautiful ring! I couldn't be more thrilled with the design, stone choice and simplicity.”
