TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CUSTOM DESIGNS
QUOTE VALIDITY:
This quote is valid for 48 hours only due to the fluctuating pricing of the precious metal and the stone industry. If you decide to go ahead with it at a later stage, we will gladly update the quote for you.
PAYMENT:
If you would like to proceed with the quote, we require a 65% deposit as confirmation. The bank details are provided on the quote.
Please use your full name on the quote when making the payment.
Please email us the Proof of Payment to confirm your order, we will only secure your stone and proceed with manufacturing once we have received the PoP.
By paying the deposit you are agreeing to the use of the stones as quoted. We will not be held responsible for the cost of changing any stones in the design.
The outstanding balance must be paid at maximum 6 weeks from the initial payment, the goods will not be released without payment. Your designer will provide you with a payment due date upon receipt of your deposit.
Payment can be made via EFT/Bank Deposit or card machine.
CANCELLATION:
If you choose to cancel the order after you have accepted and paid the deposit, we have the right to retain your 65% deposit. No product or stones will be handed over.
DESIGN OWNERSHIP:
All custom designs are owned by Dear Rae Jewellery. We have the right to reuse and adapt our custom designs for another client or design collection.
We have the right to share images of the design on our website and any social media platforms, as well as for any marketing collateral. Designs are shared after a period of 1 month from date of completion unless otherwise requested by the client.
SIZING:
The responsibility of the ring size lies with the client, Dear Rae is not responsible for any incorrect sizes.
Resizing a ring ½ - 1 size bigger or smaller is generally possible, however resizing a ring by more than 1 ring size can cause the ring to become weak and can potentially damage the ring.
Some designs and gemstones are not able to handle heat or hammering when resizing. We therefore may charge you a resizing or resetting fee. This fee will be discussed with the client before we proceed.
We will not be held responsible for the manufacturing cost of resizing your custom design piece.
RETURNS:
All custom design sales are final. Custom Design pieces are not refundable or exchangeable.
We do not buy back any stones.
WARRANTY AND REPAIRS:
We offer a complimentary cleaning, polishing, and setting check service for the lifetime of your product.
We ask that you do not have another jeweller work on your Dear Rae custom design. If someone else has resized, repaired, or adapted your custom design, we cannot be held responsible for future repairs, costs or adaptations.
If there is a manufacturing fault that we have evaluated as such, within six months of your purchase, we will cover the cost of the repair.
We will charge for all repairs after the six month period. The cost will be confirmed after an evaluation by our workshop.
We are not responsible for the loss or damage of any stone and strongly suggest that you have your ring and setting checked by us, or your local jeweller, every 6 - 12 months. By having your stones checked 1 - 2 times annually, you can avoid loss and damage from wear and tear.
Dear Rae is not liable for any skin reactions that may occur from the metal from the custom designs. If we need to remake the design in a different metal, a resetting fee will be charged and determined on a case by case basis.
MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA
We love your custom design pieces and want to share them with our community! All photographed custom designs are posted on social media or our website one month from the date of completion.
We reserve the right to use all images and videos we have captured, or been tagged in for marketing purposes. If you would like us to not post your images, please explicitly inform your designer to hold off posting until the date you’ve requested.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are consenting to receiving further communications about Dear Rae Jewellery and the use of your data as described in our privacy policy. You may opt out of receiving future communications at any time.
INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS (clientele outside of South Africa)
All of the above is applicable to international clients.
All custom designs that are being internationally couriered are invoiced excluding VAT. There is a courier fee of R1000 and you will be liable for any import duties and taxes.
All international designs that are being collected in South Africa are invoiced including VAT and you will be able to recover this at the airport when departing from South Africa, should you hold an international passport.
By making payment for the quoted amount, you acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions associated with Custom Designs and Dear Rae Jewellery.
